George Ioannou is a Partner and Head of the Property & Construction Department at George Z. Georgiou & Associates LLC and he is an expert on Cyprus land law & construction law. He holds a Masters in construction law from the University of Strathclyde (2009) and a Masters in Cyprus Real Estate from the University of Neapolis Cyprus (2021). As an active lawyer, George arbitrates and litigates, and provides seminars in both Construction & Real Estate law on a regular basis for over a decade. He is also a certified insolvency practitioner and a member of ETEK (the Scientific & Technical Chamber of Cyprus) in the field of Land Valuations, and he has recently also been appointed as an Arbitrator in ETEK’s Registry of Arbitrators. George has been a visiting lecturer at Neapolis University on Real Estate law and Statutory Valuations and authors articles for local newspapers and international publications in the relevant areas of law. He is a member of the official team for the translation of the FIDIC international form of construction contracts from English to Greek, and is also a member of the group of experts for the revision and update of the Cypriot standard form of construction contracts, currently being promoted by Joint Tribunal of Construction Contracts (MEDSK).
